For homework, we made an array and then tried to solve the array. Ask your child to explain what an array is. ___ x ___  = ____  How many rows?  How many objects in each row?

Patterns in Multiples

Ask your child to tell you something they noticed about patterns in multiplication. 

Problem Solving in Math

Do you have a garden at home?  We talked about how gardens are planted in rows.  We have 5 tomato plants, 6 pepper plants, 7 onion plants, and 6 corn plants.  If we want to plant the same number of plants in each row, how many rows could we have? The students used square tiles to figure out different solutions and recorded them on paper.  We found many different ways to plant our garden.  This lead to a great discussion with multiplication.  Ask your child to explain how they solved the problem!

Halloween

We had a great time at our Halloween parade and party! Thanks to our parent helpers and all of the parents who donated lots of yummy treats.
