Friction Sliders

Scientists make predictions. We predicted which objects have the most or least amount of friction. The blocks were covered in felt, sand paper, construction paper, buttons, and rubber bands. Then, we lifted our boards to watch them slide! The final step was to measure the distance.

Mock Election

The students worked hard as volunteers in our mock election.  They had many jobs to do to see that our election ran smoothly.  We will have to wait and see who wins the real election.

Election 2016

We are learning more about the election.  If your child is interested in exploring more, check out the Scholastic site.

We watched some informational videos to help explain the election in kid friendly language.

Partner Reading

Do you wonder how Pilgrim children spent their day? Chores, chores, and more chores. We read about Samuel Eaton and his first rye harvest.

Rocky Woods 2016

This is one of the best days as a third grader at Wheelock. I can't thank our parents enough for making this possible.

The students worked hard to prepare a delicious feast. They chopped veggies, peeled and sliced apples, and more! Our menu included beef stew, chicken, applesauce, and breads.

We learned a how much work it is to keep the fire going!  The heat was nice on such a cool October day.

Fishing takes a lot of patience, and we did great!

We practiced in our PE classes and it showed!  BULLSEYE!

We finished off our day with a yummy feast, played Steal the Bacon, and went on a fun hike through the woods.

Crafts for Rocky Woods

The students braided belts, made pockets and necklaces, baked breads, weaved placemats, and decorated handkerchiefs. They worked hard and had fun! I want to thank my helpful volunteers for making this special afternoon possible.
